M.B. Jarvie Ltd have been operating for ~45 years and proudly hold a reputation as one of the Country’s top, trusted independent vehicle service and repair garages. We are in no doubt that building this reputation over decades is the reason we are in the very fortunate position of having a surplus demand for our services.

While we do have a constant flow of new customers, if an estimate/quote is required before confirming a booking, then no, we are unable to take on new customers under these circumstances. We are a small, family run business and must deploy our limited resources where they are needed most; issuing estimates and quotes all takes time and, when we are already operating at 100% capacity, it does not make business sense.

M.B. Jarvie Ltd do not offer a fixed price service list. Each vehicle serviced in our workshop has the current service scope assessed by checking the known history against the Manufacturer’s specified schedule. If the vehicle is new to us, invariably there are missing service items that are overdue and must be added to the current scope to ensure the vehicle gets back on schedule and has the best opportunity to remain maintained. Further, the sheer number of ‘cost variables’ (oil specification, oil quantity, schedule time/miles for service items) that apply to modern vehicles is simply not compatible with a fixed pricing structure. Bear this in mind wherever you have your vehicle serviced to ensure it gets what it needs and is not neglected.

In our experience, a fixed service price-list is at odds with ensuring proper maintenance is completed over the lifetime of a vehicle. At MB Jarvie Ltd we are actively engaged in ensuring the service completed on your vehicle is optimal from a maintenance point of view; it is a manual process that takes time.  

No. All faults must be verified by an MB Jarvie technician before any repair estimates will be issued, even if another workshop has told you ‘what’s wrong’.
